We place a high measure of pride in fulfilling our pledge of accountability and commitment, and in delivering on our mission to provide quality and value to each client, exceeding expectations every time.

We still believe in customer service at RLC Contracting Company and continue to offer the type of personal, service-oriented approach that cannot always be found in larger remodeling companies. Because of our long-term local presence and community involvement, you can be secure in knowing we’ll always be there when you need us.

The Team Approach

At RLC Contracting Company we know that a team approach is an essential component to the management and execution of any successful remodeling project. Second in importance only to our relationship with our clients, are our relationships with our trade partners.

RLC Contracting Company has developed a number of ongoing relationships with like minded trade partners that share our commitment to providing quality and value on every single project. We use only trade partners that hold valid Virginia state contractor’s licenses and who carry properly endorsed insurance coverage.

We would like the opportunity to put together a team to work with you!

About Rick and Linda Jenkins

Rick has worked in the building and remodeling industry for nearly thirty eight years. A strong background in carpentry and machining has given Rick a sharp eye and an attention to detail that shows in every aspect of his work. Perfection may be elusive, but Rick will never stop reaching for it!

Having completed training in lead-safe practices as required under the EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule, Rick and Linda are both certified lead-safe renovators. Under this rule, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.

With the successful completion of the Building Professional Institute’s course of training and testing based on house-as-a-system fundamental building science, Rick has achieved the certification of Building Analyst Professional. This certification provides Rick the tools to go beyond the traditional energy audit to perform comprehensive, whole-home assessments, identify problems at the root cause and prescribe and prioritize solutions based on building science. Contact Rick today and let him show you how to achieve optimal energy efficiency for your home.

Linda has been a part of the building and remodeling industry via her partnership with Rick for over 16 years. With a background in accounting and contracts administration her hands-on involvement in every aspect of company management keeps her pretty busy. The remodeling process can be challenging in so many ways, but the role Linda plays in working with a client’s ideas and visions, developing a design and seeing it through to completion, is incredibly satisfying. Nothing is more rewarding than a happy client…good thing we have so many!!

Linda holds two NAHB professional designations, Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR) and Certified Aging In Place Specialist (CAPS). In earning each of these professional designations Linda was required to meet NAHB nationally defined criteria, complete a course curriculum specific to each designation, adhere to prescribed business standards, and meet all continuing education requirements.

The Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the practicalities of universal design as they apply to those of us who wish to remain in our homes as we age. It means the pleasure of living in a familiar environment throughout one’s maturing years, and the ability to enjoy the familiar daily rituals and the special events that enrich all our lives. It means the reassurance of being able to call a house a “home” for a lifetime.
