NAHB Remodelers
Founded in 1982, the NAHB Remodelers™ Council is the department of the National Association of Home Builders that represents and serves the interests of its 14,000 remodeler members as well as other NAHB members involved in the remodeling industry. Through a federation of 150 local Remodelers Councils nationwide, and the national office, the Council provides information, education and certification to improve the business and construction expertise of its members and to enhance the professional image of the industry.

The NAHB 50+ Housing Council is the voice of the 50+ seniors housing industry and a leading source of information and research on the active adult, independent living, service-enriched, and assisted-living markets.

Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce
Tracing its founding back to records dated in 1898, the mission of the Chamber is to advocate and support the economic and business interests of the Virginia Peninsula and the region in general. In its role to increase the number of small business successes, the Chamber offers professional development, training, seminars, and networking opportunities to the business community as a whole.
NAHB Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS)
The Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation program teaches the technical, business management, and customer service skills essential to competing in the fastest growing segment of the residential remodeling industry: home modifications for the aging-in-place. The NAHB Remodelers Council, in collaboration with the AARP, NAHB Research Center, and NAHB Seniors Housing Council, developed this program to provide comprehensive, practical, market-specific information about working with older and maturing adults to remodel their homes for aging-in-place.

If not done in a lead-safe manner, renovations and repair activities that disturb lead-based paint can expose children, as well as adults, to harmful levels of lead dust.
